Every area of Boise has great things to offer and West Boise is no exception. It is an energetic, central section of the city with a balanced mix of retail businesses, commercial services, industry, medical facilities and neighborhoods. The largest mall in Idaho, Boise Towne Square, is located here so there is an abundance of shopping options nearby including strip malls and Boise Towne Plaza, hosting Idaho’s first Nordstrom Rack. The mall is also surrounded by restaurants, entertainment and hotels.
When it’s time for fresh air and exercise there are several lovely parks to enjoy with amenities such as playgrounds, walking paths, picnic areas and sports fields. In addition, Fairmont Park also has a municipal pool, Mountain View Park offers basketball courts and Winstead Park has a covered shelter.
West Boise Neighborhoods
West Boise neighborhoods are diverse and range from older neighborhoods with Mid-Century gems to newer subdivisions as well as apartments and condos. Some of the popular subdivisions in West Boise include Bayhill Springs with spacious homes and walking paths; Mortons Subdivision in the desirable West Bench area; and Grandee Subdivision where families can feel at home with schools nearby and Winstead Park to explore. For some, it’s all about the view and the homes on Mountain View Drive on the Rim have panoramic views of the city, foothills and the beautiful Boise Mountains.
